A thorough understanding of the principles of helicopter flight and the knowledge required to operate safely and legally are essential parts of your helicopter training. Often the theoretical component of training can be neglected in favour of the more exciting flight training. Rotorvation Helicopter Services recognizes the importance of the total package and thus carefully integrates both ground and flight training to gain maximum benefit from both.
To accommodate the different needs and availability of students, Rotorvation offers several ways of conducting the theory component.
- Rotorvation Helicopter Services conducts regular, full time, in-house theory courses which run on weekdays over a period of 10 weeks. These courses give the student the opportunity to complete their theory studies in the minimum time with the benefit of learning with other like minded students.
- Full time courses are designed for CPL students but can be tailored to suit PPL candidates also.
- Part time evening courses are available to cater for those students who are not able to attend a full time course.
- If students are unable to participate in a scheduled course, they may opt to cover the complete course at times to suit their own availability. This is a more expensive option and the duration varies on the student’s own schedule. However, the entire course must be completed within 12 months.
- There is also the self-study option for those students who want to go it alone. Rotorvation Helicopter Services can provide a self-study workbook, recommend useful texts and offer guidance, advice and support throughout the process.
- Students can avail themselves of individual tuition on an hourly basis. This can be useful for self-studiers who need help with the occasional problem area.
Regardless of the type of ground study chosen, students can be assured that theory is conducted by experienced instructors with experience in the field. Theory classes are conducted in modern, well equipped, air-conditioned classrooms and individual study rooms.
Students will work through Rotorvation’s theory workbook and have access to numerous revision questions and practice exams, both written and computer based. The information covered will thoroughly prepare the student to approach each exam with the necessary knowledge and confidence to pass first time.
